Cancer: We Got You Beat!





Tears on this one!  Cancer is robbing and has robbed many people of their quality of life and/or life itself.  It sucks to watch a love one succumb to this dreadful disease, yet it is bittersweet to see a friend overcome its wrath and somehow survive.  As I approach 40 I know either myself or one of many beloved friends will have to face this dreadful disease personally and/or through a love one.  It is difficult to see unwanted illness as a gift but Stacey is right they are.  For they forever change your make-up permanently.  I learned that through my mother's battles over my entire life with her and my father's PD as it progresses full steam head.  Cancer is trying take away the joy people have in their hearts, but CANCER we have you beat.  Although we may lose our love ones and may succumb to your wrath ourselves, we will always win.  Whether it is when we beat you here on earth or leave this world for a better place CANCER FREE!

 P.S. If I ever succumb, please send me this video to remind me that illness does not have to be a curse but can be a gift.  A chance to develop strength we never knew existed inside!

This can be how we treat each other on a daily basis and most definitely how we step up in a person's time of need. Reflection: How We Treat Each Other?

 As I reflect on the past two years, I am reminded about how we treat each other truly reflects who we are. In the past year, so much pain, disruptions, and loss have occurred but one thing should remain strong: How we treat each other in a manner that uplifts. Lately, I am wondering how this got lost for some and stronger for others. As someone once told me, how you treat someone is something they will never forget. Although we may forgive, most never forget. Because the byproduct of a bad interaction can last longer than we think. Its ripple effect can come to revisit, over and over again.  So as we move into the late quarter of the year, I do hope we up our game in the following things: Empathy,  Compassion, Communication Be Kind, and Be Presence.
